The State of the Brewnion

The state of the brewnion is Strong! or should i say Stout? Guys, you have no idea how anxious I am for us to get together and treat our palates to our Sunrise Stout and the I.R.A. The Stout is an absolutely beautiful beer. . . it poors a deep mahogany with a creamed coffee head that has excellent retention. I'd say the weakest part of the beer is it's aroma, which is malty with only a slight hint of the hops. All of that criticism hits the wayside as you take the first swig. . . The hops are perfectly placed within the beer's contours. First, you don't taste the beer; you smoothly engage with the excellent mouthfeel provided by the oats. Then, you begin to taste the beer. It's stout, but could be stoutier. It's malty with hints of oak. I for one, love it as a first try.

The I.R.A. is also excellent, but I'll save that for another day.
